Giving back is a core value for everyone at Russell Rowland, and this year’s drive once again highlighted the amazing things that happen when our community works together. We collected turkeys to donate to the Mandarin Food Bank.
The Mandarin Food Bank does outstanding work that makes a real difference in our community. Their mission centers on providing emergency food and clothing to people experiencing need in the Mandarin Community. They go beyond basic food assistance by supplying duffle bags with essential items to migrant workers and hosting a Life Skills program that helps individuals work toward brighter tomorrows.
The level of support from our community left us completely astounded! We made our delivery to the Mandarin Food Bank. We donated 142 turkeys last year, and we’re proud to report that this year we collected 258 turkeys! We’ve nearly doubled our numbers another time!
This was such a rewarding way to help people going through challenging times, especially when so many families are experiencing financial strain. The holidays add extra stress for families already trying to make ends meet, and we’re honored that we could help bring comfort and a good meal to their Thanksgiving gatherings. Working side by side, we made certain local families had food on their tables for Thanksgiving.
We’re deeply thankful for all that we have, and we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed a turkey and supported our efforts to feed families in our community. We couldn’t have done this without your help. The generosity displayed this year made our Turkey Drive more successful than it’s ever been! Four years ago when we started with just 20 turkeys, 258 seemed like an impossible dream. We can’t wait to see this tradition continue to flourish in the years ahead!
