Home » Building Accessibility, Two Ramps at a Time: NEFBA Ramp-O-Rama
Making accessibility possible, two ramps at a time! Our Russell Rowland team joined Builders Care’s annual Ramp-o-Rama building two separate wheelchair ramps for deserving members of our community. As a structural engineering firm, we love opportunities like this that bring together teamwork, problem-solving, and meaningful impact.
Our team brought their competitive spirit to the build. The energy was high from the start as teams divided up and got to work on their respective projects. While there was some friendly rivalry, with one team joking, “I feel like they cheated” about the winning Teal Team 6, the real winners were the two families who received safe, accessible entrances to their homes.
The day wasn’t without its challenges. One of the teams actually ran out of wood during construction, testing their problem-solving skills and adaptability. But that didn’t stop them from completing both ramps and delivering quality results. “Teal Team 6, let’s go!” became the rallying cry of the day as the teams pushed through to finish strong.
Watching these projects come together in just one day demonstrates the incredible impact our building community can make when we work together. The collaborative atmosphere, combined with the expertise of our team members, turned what could have been an overwhelming task into an achievable goal. Both ramps were completed and photographed, providing these families with the accessibility they need and deserve.
These aren’t just construction projects. They’re life-changing improvements that allow community members to enter and exit their homes safely and independently. For families with mobility challenges, a simple ramp can mean the difference between isolation and freedom, between dependence and independence.
Thank you to Builders Care and NEFBA for organizing this meaningful event and giving our industry the opportunity to give back in such a tangible way. Thank you to our entire team for volunteering their time and skills to make these homes more accessible. Events like this remind us why we do what we do. It’s about more than just building; it’s about building better lives for our neighbors and strengthening the community we’re proud to call home.
